"Balkan" comes from a Turkish word meaning "a chain of wooded mountains".
The Balkan Peninsula which gives its name to these countries lies in the southeast region of Europe. Albania is located along the Adriatic Sea, and its capital city is Tirane. Bosnia and Herzegovina's capital is Sarajevo. That country is located south of Croatia and is mostly landlocked. Bulgaria is located along the Black Sea; its capital is Sofia. Croatia has an hourglass shape squeezed between Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina; its capital is Zagreb. Greece is located on the southwest tip of the Balkan Peninsula; its capital is Athens. Montenegro is located on the Adriatic Sea north of Albania; its capital is Podgorica. Romania has the largest land mass and a western shore on the Black Sea, and its capital is Bucharest. Serbia is landlocked in the center of the peninsula; its capital is Belgrade. The smaller country of Macedonia is landlocked south of Serbia, and its capital is Skopje. A small section of Turkey lies within the Balkan Peninsula. Its largest city, Istanbul, is the only city to straddle Asia and Europe, with the European side laying on the southeastern point of the Balkan Peninsula.
Istanbul - Skopje
Arrival to Macedonia, Skopje Aleksander the Great airport. We are meeting with our tour guide. We travel towards the capital Skopje and enjoy the scenery. We stop for a short break at the mountain pass called Straza. Before the capital frst we will visit Matka canyon - an exceptional object of nature. We are giving on route a short break for our lunch, the walking tour starts from the old railway station where you will see the old clock witch reminds us of the earthquake in 1963, with walking we go to visit Mother Teresa’s Memorial House. We move on and walk through the square, across the Stone Bridge and visit the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle. The next destination of the group is the old part of Skopje passing by the Holocaust Museum, the church of St. Dimitrija, Daut Pasha Bath, the church of St. Spas, Mustafa Pasha Mosque and the fortress called Kale. We stop by Skopje Fortress KALE, which the symbol of the city and at the moment being refurbished. About one hour of free time can be used to enjoy in the ambiance of Skopje Old Shopping District, with a possibility to buy souvenirs.
Skopje - Podgorica
After breakfast we are departing for Tetova. We will visit Sarena Mosque which is the most protected in Europe with hand made art and Arabati Baba Teḱe. We will continue to Prizjen near Kosovo border. We are visiting Bayrakli Mosque which has been used by ottoman army during Emp. We are having our lunch break. After our lunch departure for Skoder. In our short city tour we will visit also Rozafa Castle. Freetime for our guests. Our dinner and accommodation is at hotel.
Podgorica - Budva
After our breakfast we are departing for the city of natural and historical beauty Budva. On our route visiting Monesteries in Cetinje and lunch break is in our program. Upon arrival to budva, city tour including Old Town. Dinner and accommodation is at our hotel
Budva - Dubrovnik
After our breakfast we are departing for one of historical city Montenegro Kotor. Romanesque church, Kotor Cathedral and monastery are in the places we will visit. We are having our lunch break at Kotor. We are departing for one of well known holiday destination Dubrovnik, which is located among Adriatic sea. Dubrovnik as almost all Balkan region was under Rome, Bizantines and Ottoman empires long time. Today with historical values city is in UNESCO world heritage list. Departure for Rixos Hotel. Dinner and accommodation is at our hotel.
Dubronvik - Split
After our breaksfast departure for the Split city. On our trip to Split Trsten city, Trsten Botanic Park and Neum City are the places we will be visiting. Lunch break at Neum. Upon our arrival to split we are completing our city tour. Dinner and accommodation at hotel.
Split - Mostar - Sarajevo
After our breakfast ast hotel departing for Mostar city and Bosnia. Our frst stop place on our route is ottoman heritage Pocitel cillage. We are visiting and having lunch break at Mostar with wonderful sign of Mostar bridge. Our next stop is Konjic town, and with around 4 hours we are arriving to capitol of Bosnia, Sarejevo city. We are going for our city tour including visit to famous Bascarsija. Dinner and accomodation is at our hotel.
Sarajevo - Belgrade
After our Beraskfast at hotel, we are going to visit War Museum and Potocari (Srebrenica) village and departing for Belgrade, capitol of Serbia and Ex. Jugoslavia. Upon on our arrival we are having a panorama tour with our vehicle and stopping for lunch-break at Ada ciganlija which is an artifcial lake made in Tito time. In the second part of our city tour we are going to city center well-known Kneza Mihailova street for walking part of our program. By walking knez mihailova we are reaching to Belgrade Caster(Kalemegdan). Military museum, stambol gate, clock tower, dungean gate, stefan lazzrevic monument are some of the places we will see. With domastic kitchen and nice music we are having our dinner at Skadarlija.
Belgrad – Novi Sad - Istanbul
After breakfast at our hotel we are departing for Sremci Karlovci which is an important place for Ottoman and Serbian history and famous with wineries. During are visit town center, peace chapel are in the places we will see. In a local winery we are tasting a local wine Bermet and some domestic brandy. Departure for Serbia’s second big city Novi Sad. During our trip we are visiting Petrovaradin castle and Novi sad museum. Upon arrival to Novi sad we are having our lunch in fsher bay of Novi Sad beside dunav river. After our lunch we are making visiting city center. Freetime for our guests.
